Nirvana. MTV Unplugged.

Can a live album also be a greatest hits album? I pondered this while listening to MTV Unplugged in New York. But Nirvana bucked the system with their Unplugged performance. Of 14 songs, six were covers. The only “hit” song performed was “Come as You Are.” Apparently, I’m not the only one in awe of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night.” According to a writer for The Atlantic, this rendition has been regarded as one of the greatest live single song performances of all time. (Disclaimer: I read that second hand on wiki and can’t get to the actual article to verify. Whatever. It’s a great performance.) This is an album that I could have on repeat for a long time.
