Having a Rave Up with the Yardbirds is the second American album released in 1965 by The Yardbirds and the first with Jeff Beck on guitar (he replaced Eric Clapton). It does contain songs from both Beck and Clapton. Clapton does not appear on the album art as he had left the band some eight months prior to its release. The album is the highest charting Yardbirds album and was not released in the UK. From what I’ve read about the album, there is only one original song on the album. The album also marked a move away from their blues-rock beginnings with Beck’s more experimental guitar work.
Can’t say I was a fan of this album. I couldn’t find it streaming, except on YouTube. Those playlist, however, were of an extended version that was released in 2002. I had to make my own playlist with just the original 10 songs. Sorry, I didn’t save it. I didn’t like it enough to keep it.
