380 Pressure gonna drop on you

Pressure gonna drop on you and it’s all thanks to Toots and the Maytals, a Jamaican musical group and key in the ska/reggae music scene from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Can’t say that I’ve ever heard of them but who doesn’t recognize Pressure Drop? ‘Funky Kingston’ was released in the US in 1975 one Mango Records and peaked at number 164 on the Billboard charts. “Pressure Drop” is not original to this album, it had originally been released in 1969 on the album ‘The Harder They Come.’ Apparently, there are two very different albums from Toots and the Maytals called ‘Funky Kingston.’ It had been released earlier, 1972, in Jamacia/the UK and was very different then the US release, but both seem to get high ratings.

I don’t know how to rank reggae music as I don’t listen to it often. I do enjoy it when I hear it, and I did enjoyed this album. And, I can’t help but bounce around the house whenever anyone is singing Pressure drop, oh pressure drop, pressure gonna drop on you…
