331 Help!

Is this the first album from The Beatles? I think it is but it’s been a while since I worked on the list and I’m not terribly interested in going back through the list to check.

Help! is the fifth studio album from the band and if you don’t know who the Beatles are then there is no help for you. It was released in 1965 and contains some the their biggest hits (“Yesterday,” most notably). It was also the soundtrack for the film of the same title. There were two different versions, a UK version and a US version. The US version contains the original songs plus some of the orchestral score from the film. I didn’t know there were two different versions. I listened to whatever was in iTunes, which I believe was the UK version. Also, I think the UK version replaced the US version once the album was released on CD in 1987.

It’s a fun Beatles album. I’m not a super big Beatles fan, but the stuff from the ‘60s is fun. I’ve never watched the movie, though. Have you?
