411 The God Known as Eric Clapton

Has Eric Clapton reach god status yet? He is an English rock/blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame three times: as a solo artist, as a member of the Yardbirds, and as a member of Cream. He’s one of the greatest guitarists ever. I am fairly positive that I’ve not listened to the only Eric Clapton album on this list.

461 Ocean Boulevard (RSO, 1974) is Clapton’s second solo studio album. The title comes from the house where Clapton lived while recording in Golden Beach, Florida (the address has since been changed). The album is home to the hit single “I Shot the Sheriff.”  It was recorded after a three-year heroin addiction and recovery. It is a great album. Great.

The original release was 10 songs long. The first CD release added one song. A deluxe edition was released which added songs from a live concert at the Hammersmith Odeon (now called Eventim Apollo, London). I listened to the deluxe edition but stopped before the live section started. Great album.
